The training has been broken into 6 major components; these "steps" are listed, with buttons, as quick links on the left-hand side of the page. If you need to skip to the beginning of any component, just click on the corresponding button; from there, a chapter of subtopics allows you to jump to exactly what you need. Otherwise we will begin, well, at the beginning and move sequentially through the components and their subtopics.
All told, there are 3 environments in which you will work in order to (1) create, (2) upload and (3) administer your assessments: (1) a word processing program (like Microsoft Word), (2) Respondus and (3) eLearning. With a little practice you can quickly master all three environments and be well on your way to testing student progress online! This training will use Microsoft Word 2003, though any word-processing software that allows for rich text format or simple text format saves will work. We use Respondus 3.5 and eLearning 6.2.
You need NO previous experience in any of these environments in order to complete this training. There are explanations, images and videos that will walk you through each stage. If you come across a task with which you are already familiar, just use the next button to move past that task. You also always have your training administrator reachable via email to help if you run into problems during the training exercises. This administrator will manager your training files, evaluate your completion of the training and answer any questions you have along the way. Please take note or write down the name and email address of this session's administrater: Laurie Kirkner at lkirkner@gmail.com.
